'08 Mercury Mountaineer

With a few great additions like the voice command support for its entertainment system, the 2008 Mercury Mountaineer looks set to conquer the market for midsize SUVs. The manufacturers appear to have concentrated on the accessory parameters like luxury and comfort in the 2008 model year to release what is certainly a mammoth in a midsize shell.

The 2008 Mountaineer does not need any upgrades so far as the powertrain is concerned. The V8 engine has a capacity of 4.6 liters and delivers a high horsepower of 292hp, while the V6 has a lower capacity of 4.0 liters and a horsepower output of 210hp. The former comes with a six-speed and the latter with a five-speed transmission, both being automatic.

The 2008 Mercury Mountaineer continues to make use of the AdvanceTrac system in its anti-skid mechanism. The voice command system is integrated not only into the entertainment system, but also the communications system as well.
