'07 Mercury Mountaineer

The 2007 Mercury Mountaineer gets a few significant upgrades from the 2006 model. The new Mountaineer from Mercury is all set to be the worthy successor of the immensely successful legacy of the Mountaineer range of midsize sport-utility vehicles.

The excellent powertrain remains the same as the 2006 Mountaineer. The two engines offered are still the V6 and the V8, the former exhibiting moderation and the latter boasting power. Both the engines are available with automatic transmissions – the former having one with five speed options and the latter having six.

A heated windshield is a new optional feature offered in the 2007 Mercury Mountaineer. Stability features include the AdvanceTrac anti-rollover mechanism from Ford Motors. This system is able to detect and prevent potential topples that the vehicle might experience. Rear obstacle detection and multiple airbags ensure that safety is extended to individuals inside as well as those on the outside.
